With the boats setup on Anzac Day all that was left was the racing, three days of it. With a fleet of 12 International 420s, teams were on almost half the time meaning plenty of races for everyone. With the conditions ideal for team racing a double round robin was completed before lunch on the Sunday. The racing was often intense especially on the Sunday as teams jockeyed for the four New Zealand positions in the Interdominion Open Team racing Championships. In the top five shootout Mahurangi put Kohimarama Two away (2-0) to take the first final position, while perhaps the closest racing in the top five shootout saw Kerikeri Two scrape past Kohimarama One (2-1). Kerikeri One showed some precise team racing tactics to beat Kerikeri Two (2-0) and Mahurangi (2-0) in the final to take the Ronstan Cup.
